Day 4

31km / 7.5 hours

Another brutal day, I could have chosen to split it into two but that would’ve felt too short and left another annoying say ahead so I preferred to just keep going all the way off the beach to Ahipara.

The beach I faced yet again

This day had many more utes going by and people fishing in the sea and honestly I preferred the peace and quiet of the prior days even if it was dull. Having to consider where cars and others were as they drove past didn’t help with much and was moreso a distraction.

I took a long break at the beach that’s just over halfway(Waipapakauri) which ended up just being sitting on a concrete block and giving my legs some respite from the repetition. That helped a bit but perhaps the main thing was that I was more used to it over the past 2 days so was able to cope better, although my legs and feet were still aching by the end.

Some kindred spirit had left a message in the sand!
